SKIERS AND RIDERS SHOULD BE ADVISED THAT OUR TRAIL RATING SYSTEM (GREEN CIRCLE, BLUE SQUARE, BLACK DIAMOND, OR DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND) IS NOT NECESSARILY THE SAME SYSTEM UTILIZED AT OTHER SKI AREAS. SKIERS AND RIDERS SHOULD ALWAYS BEGIN WITH THE EASIEST TRAIL, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY LEVEL, UNTIL THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE TRAILS AT NORDIC MOUNTAIN.
Trails for You!
Beginners
Before going up the chairlift, it is best to start at our learning area. Here, you can take up our conveyor or handle tow to begin practicing your turns and get a feel for the snow. This area is located behind the double chair, right next to the chalet. Once you feel confident enough, head up the triple chair and take a left to get over to gentle giant. This is a great next step for beginners and will have you feeling confident in no time!
Intermediate
Nordic has a great variety for intermediate riders with a large percentage of blue runs. The double chair gets you to most of these runs excluding dynamite. Once you get off the lift, go to the right and you are sure to find the perfect intermediate run for you. Hari Kari and Nitro are very popular options but if you like tighter turns, Me Nords is a great choice!
Advanced
There is plenty of difficult terrain here at Nordic if you're looking for steep runs and tight turns. The easiest way to get to these is by taking the triple chair up where you will find fast runs like lightning and avalanche off to the right. Just be careful as you get to the bottom as it is a slow zone to protect less experienced skiers coming down from other runs. Go to the left, and take a trip through Nordy's Narrows woody section.
Park Riders
Nordic offers three great terrain parks that can all be found by first taking the triple chair and then going to the left past Gentle Giant. There is a small, medium, and large park that is constantly being updated and serviced to ensure great runs. At the bottom, we have a service tow that you will bring you to the top so you can continue doing fun laps in the park. Check out our terrain park page for more safety information and tips.
